It’s Okay

Yes the title for this post is self explanatory. It’s Okay. These are the 2 magical words you need to tell yourself as well as anyone near you who is feeling pressure for anything and is not able to perform. It can even be someone who is grieving for some loss or someone who has recently failed in some test even after preparing for a long time.

It’s Okay, everything will be good soon.

We often come across many people who are living their lives in the past. They’re like, “Oh man, I did not score that well in the exam. I wish I had studied more.” or “Man, why did I not win the lottery ? Why does it always happens with me ?!”. If you know any such people, remember the magical two words everytime they come near you cribbing about the past and how the fate has not been in their favour. The reason I believe this must be said is because, the only thing we have in control is the present and when we are talking about the things that are out of our hands and living in the past we are actually wasting our precious time.

The 86,400 story

You are the master of your own time

Suppose you are given 86,400 rupees/ dollars daily. These 86,400 will renew after 24 hours no matter how you use it or if you use it. This leads us to believe that we’d be having unlimited money for our life. But in reality, it is not. All you need to worry about is how you are going to spend the money you have and make sure you use each and every penny you get everyday. These 86,400 rupees is nothing but the number of seconds in a day. Nobody has the power to take them away from you. They will be renewed after a day has passed now it up to you that will you use them to prepare for that test that is 1 week away or cry one day before the test stating there is “NO TIME”. But it is Okay. Why ? because it was you who made the choice. Because you heart and mind did not think it was important or worth spending time on. Its not that using time wisely will make you successful, but it will help for sure. If somebody steals 400 seconds of your life by saying some mean words, it is completely upto you if you want to waste the remaining 86,000 cursing them and thinking about it or saying “It’s Okay” and move on with the life, investing your time in the correct place.

Maybe it’s not okay

Yup, you read that right. There are times when you can just not go on with life by saying it’s okay. You need to speak up. You need to vent it out. You need to tell the world and that very person, “IT IS NOT OKAY”. It is not just the case of anger but there are scenarios in a persons life or the things that one crosses by that one can just not say that its okay. Suppose you’re passing by and ally. You see 2 men teasing a girl and making her completely uncomfortable. Will you say it’s okay ?

You’re a dad of a 6 year old son. He one day comes crying to you saying that he was bullied by some children at school. Will it be okay ? No right. The magical words are not applicable for all things some times you need to take the sword in you hand instead of the pen and tell the world how Alexander won the world. As one of the favourite poets quoted about why we should not keep things summed up inside us.

It’s okay to be angry at times. It’s okay to let it all out and stand up for something you feel is wrong. Don’t keep things inside you that you wanted to say to someone but could not thinking that what would that person think about it. The only way to know how that person will react to something you’d say is by saying it to them.

I often write about it on various platforms and here is one of the most recent ones:
